The LW is a hydraulic shaving machine for whole hides with a 3,000 mm working width. Danese presented this model in January 2022. Its construction combines a rigid frame, hydraulic movements and adjustable thickness controls for leather processing.
Frame and hydraulic movements
The main structure uses stabilised cast-iron side frames connected by steel beams. Opening and closing are hydraulically controlled, with variable speed and adjustable start and stop timing. Roller bearings support the moving components.
Thickness adjustment
The machine provides centesimal thickness adjustment with preset selection and illuminated push buttons. The selected value is shown on the display.
- Thickness increase: four programmable presets, from 0 to +0.99 mm.
- Thickness decrease: programmable presets, from 0 to −0.99 mm.
- Automatic compensation for blade wear to help maintain the selected shaving thickness.
- Correction of the displayed setting to align it with the hide thickness.

Controls and protective devices
The specification describes a sealed electrical cabinet and two protective devices across the working width: an electromechanical barrier and a pneumatic barrier. The operator workstation is arranged for access to the controls.
